about

democ4phpbb is a modification for the famous phpBB2 web-community package.

Its goal is creating for online communities what has existed in the real word decades, if not centuries ago: A democracy, where the users of a web-community can elect their government (i.e. their moderators) themselves.

With this project being ideal for relatively closed communities like e.g. a bulettin-board system for schools or universities, it is also an political experiment to find an answer to the question if this form of government has to ability to manage life on the internet efficiently.
